In May 2007, SOCAM successfully entered into an agreement with Shui On Land Limited (SOL) and Yida Group, an experienced developer in Northern China, to form a joint venture for the development of Dalian Tiandi, a visionary knowledge community project in the burgeoning coastal city of Dalian in Northeast China.

With the inauguration having taken place in September 2007, this large-scale, multi-faceted project focusing on the global software and outsourcing industries will provide a total "work-live-learn-play" environment. Comprising approximately 3.4 million square metres of gross floor area, this modern software hub will bring together businesses, IT and software development centres, commercial and residential properties, as well as educational and research facilities, outdoor recreational and other public amenities. According to the current development plan, this project will be constructed in 10 phases, with completion expected in 2020.

The joint venture combines the strength, expertise and experience of the partners concerned and is poised to create substantial synergies. The project draws on SOCAM's expertise in project management and quality assurance as well as its sales and marketing experience, while SOL will be responsible for master planning and overall design of the development.
