As a leading conglomerate, Shui On Building Contractors Limited (SOBC) and Shui On Construction Company Limited (SOC) were the first two construction companies awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). In addition, SOBC and SOC were both awarded ISO 14001 certification in 1999.

SOBC, as one of the largest contractors for government housing projects, has the honour of being the first contractor in Hong Kong to obtain ISO 9002 certification in building construction works. The ISO 9002 certification of SOBC and SOC were successfully converted to ISO 9001: 2000 standard in 2002.
